It’s Baby’s two months old mark! Baby girls are probably weighing about 11.3 pounds; boys are weighing around 12.3 pounds. Height averages are 22.5 inches for girls and 23 inches for boys.

An important characteristic of this period is that their muscular tone is getting better: day after day, your little one becomes firmer and tries out new movements. You’ll notice they’ll be able to support their little head when pulled by the underarms and can even stretch out their hands. Little by little, the child begins dropping the newborn reflexes and acquiring more control over their own body.

To stimulate your child’s development, continue talking to them a lot – especially during diaper changes and baths – and introduce toys, moving them side to side, very slowly, to encourage the baby to move their head while searching for those toys.

And, speaking of baths, this is a situation that two-month-olds tend to enjoy a lot – some, actually, swing their arms and legs, making an enjoyable mess in the bathroom!

At the end of the first month, you’ll probably be more adapted to your new routine and endowed with tranquility and patience to deal with unforeseen situations. Your child will begin spending more time awake during the day and sleep up to seven straight hours every night.

Avoid leaving him/her inside the crib for too long during the day. The child needs to become familiar with the house and learn how it functions. An infant car seat is perfect for taking your little one from place to place.
