The baby has been getting pretty big lately. In the following weeks, he/she will double or even triple in size! As a result, this is the point in time where you’ll be gaining more weight too.

This week, your baby can differentiate between light and dark and can even follow with their eyes a moving light outside the womb. Another interesting fact is that the baby’s brain will begin to take its characteristic wrinkled appearance.

The lanugo, a layer of “thin fur” that covers the baby’s entire body, begins to disappear. Still, your little one may be born with quite a lot of lanugo, especially on the back area, shoulders, forehead, ears – babies will lose it within their first weeks of life outside the womb; they will also lose their hair in the first six months.
